After 15 years in a space filled with loose parts and bark chips, LNS celebrated 80 years in operation with a ‘Cohesive Campus’ capital campaign and a full playspace revamp. “The LNS courtyard is now a vibrant, imaginative space for building, balancing, water play, imaginary play, digging, and more. Children are already making joyful use of it each day: crossing new bridges, sending water down the rain runnel, chatting through the talk tube, and making themselves at home in the mud kitchen and playhouse.”
SegoDesign collaborated with the faculty to develop a design responsive to the children’s age-appropriate needs. The Trustees worked with R.P.Marzilli to build out the space in record time over the summer break and parent volunteers planted many smaller plants and bulbs on weekends.
Many thanks to all the staff and parent volunteers at LNS, Josh Hasenfus of The Trustees, Eric Johnson of R.P. Marzilli, Will Conklin at Konkapot Tree & Timber and Jim Freeborn at Select Horticulture. THANK YOU!
