We blend the pleasures of a seasonal garden with the understanding of ecosystems to design diverse, low-maintenance landscapes.
At the heart of SegoDesign is ongoing personal relationships – listening and communicating is the key to coordinating the entire team, clients to contractors. This process strives to balance programmatic needs and budget constraints with a strong land ethic and keen design eye.
We custom design each project utilizing years of expertise and a deep well of ongoing education. When necessary, Natalie curates teams for each project based on the needs of the site and the clients. Surveyors, engineers, contractors, artisans like steel workers and masons, as well as outdoor furniture representatives all help to achieve an amazing result. Within this collaborative space, sensitive site planning, attention to detail, and creative problem solving are at the core of the process.
Season-spanning beauty and enjoyment define the work. Our projects reflect on interrelated natural systems to bring durability and longevity to our design moves. We combine ecological science with art and architecture to create delightful places. We plan expertly, then allow organic evolution with carefully guided maintenance.

Then we will work to value-engineer the project to best fit the needs and budget, designing additional details as necessary. At this point we work with contractors to realize the scope and get the project built. Adding details like pots, planters, and furnishings can be done over time with development of a maintenance plan for ongoing caregivers.
